Drakes Estero in Point Reyes is one of the most magical places we have ever seen! The paddle out was lovely and then we turned into a cove and as the sun came out so did the bat rays and leopard sharks. Look in front of the kayak, see those little flippers? That’s a bat ray. There were little shark fins and bat ray wings peeking out of the water all over the place, it was amazing. We will definitely be back. A big shout out to @luckybendlookout for sharing about this amazing spot!

While we were watching my favorite show, @nbcmakingit , one of the contestants said the above quote and it really struck me. I make sure I am choosing joy and choosing to enjoy my life. But to choose to be silly sounds so fun. I think as adults we get away from being silly for the sake of ‘maturity’. But silliness is so freeing and an instant endorphin boost, which is always good. I’m working my way to silly, starting with just having more fun, the silly will come naturally.

We had friends over to our house! We have an immun

We had friends over to our house!
We have an immune compromised kiddo so we haven’t hung out with friends in over a year! But we have friends who are vaccinated and willing to quarantine for a week to see us! It was so much fun, they played nerf guns, video games, swam in the pool, giggled non stop, built s’more and the moms stayed up way too late chatting!
We had the best time! It’s so special when you find people who care about you so much and are willing to go out of their way to love you!

We did something new! I’m not sure why we haven’t done it before?!
What’s the best part about summer?
For me it’s the long days and the sun not setting until 8:30.
So we took advantage of the light and went on a sunset hike. I highly recommend it. The sun lighting up the tree tops with its warm glow and the birds saying their final goodnight chirps so amazing.
Bring bug spray, jackets and a light source! Now I’m off to find more hikes that would be pretty at sunset!

We might be outdoor frauds…We don’t adventure

We might be outdoor frauds…We don’t adventure much during the summer. 😬. It gets pretty hot here and really crowded. So we do day trips and enjoy our backyard and wait for school to start back up (we homeschool for this very reason).

This is my favorite restaurant. The view is always changing but the food is always good!
We grab sandwiches, tacos or make breakfast burritos right on the back of our truck and eat out in nature. The food tastes better. We all talk and laugh and have the most relaxed time.
