Today my youngest turns 8! It’s been one hell of Today my youngest turns 8! It’s been one hell of a year for him. A hospital stay, multiple medical procedures, getting his arthritis managed and rocking physical therapy. So many ups and downs and yet he has remained full of life and kindness and sass and silliness. He brings so much joy to our lives. I hope his 8th year of life is less eventful but this year he has proven to us all how to rock the positivity even when it’s hard!
This guy is 13 today! I’ll save my disbelief at This guy is 13 today! I’ll save my disbelief at how quickly time passes and just say what a privilege it is to know this kid. He is funny, snarky, imaginative, creative, passionate about justice, cares for the planet, he is a kind big brother and just the most self aware and awesome 13 year old I have ever known. Being his mom is the best!
Thor-ington Machete Ninjastar Meyer, or just Thor Thor-ington Machete Ninjastar Meyer, or just Thor for short, turns 10 today! We love our little adventure dog! He loves bouldering and tidepooling, hates anything to do with water, and carrots and cheese are his favorite snacks. He is spoiled and loved and we are so glad to have found him.

We have been spending a fair amount of time in Pal We have been spending a fair amount of time in Palo Alto, and in true Meyer Family style we had to squeeze in some time outside between doctor appointments. This cactus garden is across from Stanford Childrens hospital and was such a surprise find, look at the size of that Joshua tree!! Jonny, our youngest spent about a week in the hospital and a week at home being treated for and recovering from a really bad ear/bone infection. This is the kind of thing that can happen when you are immunocompromised. The poor kid had more blood draws and procedures than I can count but we are on the mend now. Thank you to everyone who reached out and sent thoughts and prayers our way. And all the thanks to @stanfordchildrens and their amazing doctors!
Cave exploring in Pinnacles National Park Did you Cave exploring in Pinnacles National Park

Did you know there are two sections to the Bear Gultch Cave? The upper cave is only open for a few weeks every year. A colony of bats have their young up there and they close it, so they can have some peace and quiet. We happened to catch the upper cave before it closed for the season, we were so excited!
The upper cave is a bit intense and is not for the claustrophobic person. We had to get on hands and knees to crawl and squeeze through rock openings to make it through. You will definitely need a flashlight, a head lamp would be even better for a hands free lighting experience. Check out the national parks website for the cave schedule and give it a shot!
